Sumerian Seals & Sargon the Onager

Atticus learned about the first Sumerian dictator, Sargon, today. Man, he was an ass, which is apparently what pulled chariots back then instead of horses. And those particular wild asses were also known as onagers. My kids love "secret" bad words, and they aren't afraid to throw them out there. ;) And I am enjoying relearning history.

Anyhow, our project for the day was making our own Sumerian Seals. After a few takes, here are our seals waiting to dry (as well as a few other goodies). Next we will paint them and then make impressions in wet clay.
